1. Do they have a valid license? Operating without one is a criminal offence	#767713
2. A C-39 "Roofing Specialist" is the only license classification thatcan legally perform roofing work. General Contractors have a "B" license and must obtain a C-39 license to do roof work; or they must subcontract to a C-39 licensee.	C-39
3. Workers Compensation Insurance is mandatory. It is customary for the contractor to provide a certificate of insurance. A filing of "Exempt" indicates NO INSURANCE.	Certificate available upon request
4. It's a good idea to contact the Better Business Bureau and request a company rating. Tel: 909-825-0490 or 909-426-0813 or www.bbbsouthland.org (ie. find member: octagon roofing)	AAA - "Exemplary"
5. Beware of any contractor with past diciplinary problems.	Never
6. Be cautious of false advertising and offers that sound too good to be true. Claims of number of years in business should correspont with the date that their license was issued. Corporate license was issued in:	1999
7. The Contractor should carry LIABILITY INSURANCE or you are the one at risk and will ultimately be held responsible.	Certificate available upon request
